The New York Yankees have announced a four-year, $40 million contract deal with pitcher Luis Severino. Over the course of five years, the extension can reach a maximum of $52.25 million.
For Severino, the deal buys out four arbitration years and a possible free-agent year. After this season, if his club option is not exercised, the right-hander will be eligible for free agency at the age of 30.
