Matt Barnes, the full name Matthew Kelly Barnes is a former American basketball player who played in 14 different basketball seasons in the National Basketball Association(NBA).
Matt was born March 9, 1980, in Santa Clara, California, the United States of America Barnes to a white mother, Ann Barnes and an African American father, Henry Barnes.
He had his high school education at Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, California, where he played football and basketball. He earned several awards for his participation in sports in school.
During the 2002 NBA draft, Matt was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 46th overall pick. When the Long Beach Jam basketball team was having their inaugural season in 2003, Matt decided to sign with them.
That same year, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers for the second half of the 2003–04 NBA season. He made his debut for the Sacramento Kings in October 2004 when he signed with them and established himself as a key rotation player for the Sacramentos.
Matt Barnes has three children. Two from his previous marriage and one with his current partner. They are Carter Kelly Barnes and Isaiah Michael Barnes whom he had with his ex-wife, Gloria and Ashton Joseph Barnes whose mother is Anansa Sims.
