Nate Pearson is a professional baseball player who plays the position of pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball(MLB). Born as Nathan Alexander Pearson to Dave and Elaine Pearson, Nate grew up in Florida where he was born.
Nate played baseball for his high school, is Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School in Spring Hill, Florida. Upon completion of his high school education, he attended the Florida International University (FIU) where he played college baseball for the FIU Panthers baseball team.
After a year of being at FIU, Nate got a transfer to the College of Central Florida where he continued to play baseball and was honoured to be named the JUCO Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game.
In 2017, he was considered one of the top prospects for the 2017 MLB draft and he was selected in the 28th overall selection by the Toronto Blue Jays. He signed with the Jays in June 2017 and earned a $2.45 million signing bonus.
For a start, he was assigned to the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays and was soon promoted to the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians after making one start. He was later assigned to the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays to begin the 2018 season, but unfortunately, he opened the year on the disabled list. Nate made his MLB debut on July 29, 2020, for the Toronto Blue Jays team.
