Nicholas (Nicky) Lopez is a professional baseball shortstop who plays for the Kansas City Royals baseball team. Born March 13, 1995, in Naperville, Illinois, the United States to parents Bob Lopez and Angela Lopez, Nicky’s non-professional career started at Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois where he had his high school education.
After his high school career, he enrolled at Creighton University where he for the school’s baseball team. In 2016, after his college degree, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals during the fifth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball(MLB) draft.
Nicky made his professional debut playing for the Burlington Royals, an affiliate to the Kansas City Royals in 2016. From 2017 till 2019, Nicky played in several minor leagues games back to back.
Nicky was promoted to the major leagues for the first time in May 2019 after his contract was selected by the Royals. He made his MLB debut that night when the Royals played against the Texas Rangers.
