A lot of debate at awards events over the past two years has been around how they’re handling the pandemic.
Even the planetary crisis hasn’t been able to divert attention from a more commercial concern, notably the dwindling attendance at these kinds of parties.
Even while vaccination regulations and face mask requirements have been a hot-button topic for the forthcoming 2022 Academy Awards, they may not be the most important factor in the debate surrounding this year’s 94th Academy Awards.
There has never been an easier job than hosting the Oscars since fans are eager to complain when jokes fall flat, pieces fail, or the host leaves after an opening address is delivered.
As a surprise, the show’s new no-host approach in 2019 proved refreshing (Kevin Hart, who had been planned to host, exited amid controversy surrounding past jokes that were blasted as homophobic).
However, the Academy’s repeated use of the no-host strategy for the 2020 and 2021 shows resulted in declining profits.
Nominees and winners in eight categories, including documentary short, film editing, make-up/hairstyling and original soundtrack and production design and animation and live-action shorts will no longer be presented in person by the Academy.
Before the live show, the awards will be given out at the Oscar site, the Dolby Theatre. There will be a live broadcast of the speeches given in appreciation.
Who is Hosting the Oscars 2022?
This year, there are three hosts, not just one. These hosts are; Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes.
While Hall is best known for his parts in comedic roles, both Schumer and Sykes have experience as stand-up comics, which is a talent that normally works well for hosting the Oscars.
