One of the Boston Red Sox baseball team’s Pitcher is Richard Hill, simply known in baseball as Rich Hill. Rich was born March 11, 1980, in Boston, Massachusetts to parents Lloyd Hill Sr. and Peggy Hill.

He attended Milton High school where he played baseball as a freshman. After high school, Rich had the opportunity to be drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 36th round of the 1999 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft but he rather chose to play college baseball for the Michigan Wolverines baseball at the University of Michigan.

In 2001, he got lucky again to be drafted by the Anaheim Angels team during the seventh round of the 2001 MLB Draft but he still decided to be with the Wolverines. He is one player who happened to be drafted three times in the MLB before signing in 2002. Between 2005 to 2020, Rich played for nine different baseball teams including the Bostons.

In February 2021, Rich signed a one year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays team for $2.5 million. In May that same year, he was named American League Pitcher of the Month. The Rays traded him in July 2021 to the New York Mets. Rich returned to play with the Bostons in December 2021.

Rich Hill and his wife, Caitlin McClellan had two children. Brice Hill, who was in 2011 and Brooks Stephen Hill, who was born in December 2013and unfortunately passed away in February 2014.
