Rich Hill is a professional baseball player who positions as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox baseball team of the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Rich grew up with his parents and two other siblings in Boston where he was born. He attended Milton High school where he played baseball as a freshman. After high school, Rich had the opportunity to be drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 36th round of the 1999 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft but he rather chose to play college baseball for the Michigan Wolverines baseball at the University of Michigan.

In 2001, he got lucky again to be drafted by the Anaheim Angels team during the seventh round of the 2001 MLB Draft but he still decided to be with the Wolverines. He is one player who happened to be drafted three times in the MLB before signing in 2002. Between 2005 to 2020, Rich played for nine different baseball teams including the Bostons.

In February 2021, Rich signed a one year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays team for $2.5 million. In May that same year, he was named American League Pitcher of the Month. The Rays traded him in July 2021 to the New York Mets. Rich returned to play with the Bostons in December 2021.

Rich Hill is married to Caitlin McClellan. They have been married since 2007 and had two children but lost one in 2014.
