Rob Manfred Jr. is the Commissioner of the Major League Baseball(MLB). He was born in Rome, New York on September 28, 1958. Rob grew up in his birth town and had his high school education at Rome Free Academy where he graduated in 1976.
He started college at Le Moyne College. A year later, he transferred to Cornell University where he earned a degree in Bachelor of Science from Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He also attended Harvard Law School and earned his Juris Doctor in 1983.
From 1983 to 1984, Robert worked as a clerk for Judge Joseph L. Tauro of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Rob also served as a Board member at the Catholic School of Holy Child in Rye, New York. Rob started working part-time with the MLB in 1987. He joined the MLB full-time in 1998 and served as the Executive Vice President of Economics and League Affairs. He was appointed Commissioner of MLB in 2015 and he has been at the pot to date.
