Ron Galella was an American photographer who began his career in photography in the mid and late 19s. Born Ronald Edward Galella Ron as he was popularly called became a pioneer for paparazzi photography of celebrities where pictures of celebrities were taken in their unsuspecting forms.

Ron was a very controversial photographer as there were  many news surrounding his paparazzi adventures which often caused him a lot of trouble including beatings, court fines and jail times.

Ron was notably known for his dire pestering of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, where he pursued her close to a decade taking pictures of her and selling them with other famous persons  to famous magazines. Some of his works were used in the Time, Harper’s Bazaar and The New York Times.

Ron Galella died from a heart congestion failure at age 91. He died peacefully in his sleep at home.

His methods, although were regarded as unethical and rude by some other professionals,Ron was able to produce iconic images of many famous celebrities including Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Redford and Jack Nicholson.

Ron’s six decades of photography with paparazzi mostly made people see him as a nuisance but the satisfaction he gained from taking pictures of celebrities unawares alone is enough to show how much he loved his work.
