Thomas Ross Stripling is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays (MLB). He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2016 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and has appeared in 20 All-Star games.
Stripling went to Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, for high school baseball and then Texas A&M University for college baseball. On May 12, 2012, he pitched a no-hitter for the Aggies against San Diego State. In 16 starts, he had a 10–4 record and a 3.08 ERA as a senior in 2012.
Stripling was picked in the ninth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the Colorado Rockies, but he did not sign. Stripling graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and is a FINRA-registered stockbroker and financial advisor.
In 2016, he passed the Series 7 exam, and in 2017, he passed the Series 66 exam. Stripling appeared on Fox Business Network on January 31, 2019, to provide market comments before taking questions about his major league debut and baseball analytics.
