Ryan Borucki is a professional baseball pitcher who was born March 31, 1994, at Mundelein, Illinois in the United States of America. Ryan began his amateur career at Mundelein High School in his hometown, Mundelein.
Ryan Borucki’s father, Raymond, was a former minor league player who was signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an infielder in the 1970s. He was an undrafted free agent in 1979 but he never advanced beyond Triple-A ball.
In 2012, he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB draft after which he was assigned to the minor leagues where he played for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays. In the 2014 baseball season, he played for the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays and the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians and had a combined record of 3–2, a 2.37 ERA, and 52 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched.
For the 2017 minor league season, he was assigned to Advanced-A Dunedin and was named Toronto’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year in October 2017. He started his 2018 minor season with Buffalo but was called into the major leagues on June 26, 2018, by the Blue Jays. He made his MLB debut that night for the Toronto Blue Jay.
