Tommy Romero, an American baseball pitcher with the Tampa Bay Rays, was born on July 8, 1997.

In 2015, Romero graduated from Coral Springs Charter School. After being undrafted in the 2015 MLB draft, he decided to attend Polk State College and play baseball there.

After completing his freshman year at Eastern Florida State College in 2016, he transferred to the university. At the NJCAA level, he won nine games in 2017 and had an incredible 1.13 ERA.

The Seattle Mariners selected him in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft in the 15th round after his sophomore season.

With the Rookie-level Arizona League Mariners, Romero made his professional debut, going 5-1 and posting a 2.08 ERA in 43+13 innings of work.

Clinton LumberKings of the Class A Midwest League was where he began the year of 2018.

Denard Span and lex Colomé were acquired by the Rays from the Mariners on May 25th in exchange for Romero and Andrew Moore.

He was sent to the Class A Midwest League’s Bowling Green Hot Rods, where he was awarded an All-Star. He was 11-4 with a 2.95 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP in 25 starts between Clinton and Bowling Green.

With the Class A-Advanced Florida State League’s Charlotte Stone Crabs, he went 12-4 with a 1.89 earned run average in 23 games and 18 starts, striking out 103 in 119+1/3 innings.
