Glasnow was born in the city of Santa Clarita in the state of California. His father Greg was a swimmer and water polo player, his mother Donna is a retired gymnast who went on to coach at Cal State Northridge, and his older brother Ted was a decathlete for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Since 1979, Greg and Donna have worked as hardwood retailers in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Glasnow went to William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, the same school which MLB pitchers James Shields, Trevor Bauer, and Mike Montgomery attended.

In Santa Clarita, California, Glasnow attended William S. Hart High School. He has committed to play baseball for the University of Portland in college.

Glasnow was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Glasnow enjoys hip hop music and has two tattoos depicting music.

He has the phrase “No Juice” tattooed on the inside of his lower lip, a reference to Lil Boosie’s song “No Juice.” On the sole of his right foot, he used to have a tattoo of rap artist Ol’ Dirty Bastard, but the picture has faded.
