Vidal Bruján, a Dominican professional baseball second baseman, and outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball was born on February 9, 1998. (MLB).
In October 2014, Bruján signed as an international free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Rays in 2015, batting.301 in 60 games with two home runs, 20 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases.
In 51 games with the Gulf Coast Rays and Hudson Valley Renegades in 2016, he hit.271 with one home run and eight RBIs, and in 67 games with Hudson Valley in 2017, he hit.285 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.
With the Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Charlotte Stone Crabs, Bruján slugged 9 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 55 stolen bases in a combined.320/.403/.459 in 122 games last year.
He slashed a combined.277/.346/.389/.735 with four home runs and 40 RBIs in 2019 between Charlotte and the Montgomery Biscuits. After the 2019 season, he played with the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League.
After the 2019 season, Bruján was added to the Rays 40-man roster. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, he was unable to play in a minor league game in 2020.
Bruján was chosen to represent the United States at the All-Star Futures Game in June of 2021.
