Volodymyr Zelenskyy Age: How old is Zelensky?

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is 44 years old. He was born on 25 January 1978.

Born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy was raised by a Jewish family in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic at the time.

A professor at the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics, Oleksandr Zelenskyy, and his mother, Rymma Zelenska, both worked as engineers before their son was born. During World War II, his grandpa, Semyon (Simon) Ivanovych Zelenskyy, participated in the Red Army and lost his father and three brothers in the Holocaust.

Zelenskyy’s father worked in Erdenet, Mongolia, where the young Zelenskyy spent four years before entering school. He obtained an education grant to study in Israel at the age of 16 after passing the Test of English as a Foreign Language, but his father refused to let him go.

Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics, once of the Kyiv National Economic University and currently affiliated with Kryvyi Rih National University, awarded him a law degree later, but he did not go on to practice law.

He joined his local KVN (comedy competition) team at the age of 17 and was quickly invited to join the united Ukrainian team “Zaporizhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit,” which competed in the KVN’s Major League and won in 1997.

In the same year, he founded and led the Kvartal 95 crew, which ultimately became the comedy group Kvartal 95. Kvartal 95 played in the Major League and KVN’s highest open Ukrainian league from 1998 to 2003. Team members spent a lot of time in Moscow and frequently toured post-Soviet countries.
