What College did Tyler Glasnow Attend?

Tyler Glasnow didn’t enter college. He only committed to playing college football at the University of Portland. In Santa Clarita, California, Glasnow attended William S. Hart High School.

He was picked in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB draft by the Pirates, and he signed a $600,000 signing bonus with them.

Glasnow was in contention for the American League Cy Young Award throughout the first several months of the 2019 season, however, his season was cut short due to injury.

Glasnow was part of a Rays pitching players that helped the team reach the World Series for the first time in franchise history last season.

Glasnow debuted professionally in 2012 with the Gulf Coast Pirates of the Gulf Coast League’s Rookie division.

Glasnow is still involved with his high school baseball team. During his Minor League days, he used to practice at Hart and once sat in the dugout during a winter game.

Before getting taken in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft, Glasnow only had one offer coming out of high school. He struggled at times in Pittsburgh and stated he had to “reinvent himself” with Tampa Bay after a “change of scenery.”
