Jeff Carson, born Jeffrey Lee Herndon on December 16, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began performing after competing in a local competition in Rogers, Arkansas.
Carson eventually relocated to Branson, Missouri, where he worked as a bass guitarist in local bands while still creating music. He met his future wife in Branson and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989.
He obtained work with a band that performed at the Opryland Hotel and subsequently began recording demos for other musicians.
Carson signed with Curb Records after being found by record producer Chuck Howard in 1994. Yeah Buddy, his debut radio hit, was released in 1995.
The Car, another top-five success, earned him his first Academy of Country Music award for “Video of the Year” after Not On Your Love.
Carson released numerous additional singles, including Real Life (Was Never The Same Again), which was another of his 14 Billboard charting singles.
