What Happened to Red Sox Pitcher Sawamura?

Hirokazu Sawamura is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Standing at a height of 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m), Sawamura began playing college baseball for Chuo University in Tokyo.

Since then, he has played for the likes of Yomiuri Giants and Chiba Lotte Marines.

Sawamura played nine seasons for the Yomiuri Giants during 2011-2020; he missed the 2017 season because of a shoulder injury.

In 2011, he was named the Central League Rookie of the Year. In 2013, he was named MVP of the main round of the NPB All-Star Series.

During his initial four seasons with the Giants, he was prevalently a beginning pitcher; after 2014, he just showed up for the Giants as a help pitcher.
