Xander Jan Bogaerts, OON, nicknamed “the X-Man” and “Bogey” or “Bogie”, is an Aruban professional baseball shortstop for the Boston Red Sox.

Born on October 1, 1992 (age 29 years), in  Oranjestad, Aruba, Xander is said to have a height that stands at 1.85 m and has a home run of 141.

Mike Lord, a scout for the Boston Red Sox, discovered Bogaerts at the age of 16, in 2009. After not playing baseball for two weeks due to chickenpox.

Bogaerts played for Lord, who recommended him to Craig Shipley, the Red Sox’s vice president of international scouting.

Xander Bogaerts Contract

The 29-year-old Bogaerts signed a six-year, $120 million deal in 2019, a deal that runs through 2025 with an option for 2026.

But that deal also included an opt-out after three seasons, allowing Bogaerts the freedom to pursue a bigger deal at age 30. His current deal pays him $20 million per year.
