Luke Voit was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He made his debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017 before being traded to the New York Yankees in 2018.
Voit was born on February 13, 1991 in Wildwood, Missouri, and is a professional baseball first baseman for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
The Missouri State Bears recruited him to play collegiate baseball for them. He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2017 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and he continued to play for them in 2018 before being transferred to the New York Yankees in the middle of the season.
By 2019, he had risen to the position of the first baseman with the Yankees.
Originally from Wildwood, Missouri, Voit graduated from Lafayette High School.
As a first baseman and third baseman for the Lafayette baseball team during his first three years on the squad, then as a catcher during his final year, he earned All-Conference honors.
Besides that, he was a fullback and middle linebacker for their football club as well.
When Voit was a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners in 2011, he received all-league honors. In 62 games as a sophomore, he hit.298 with six home runs and 46 RBIs.
Because of the tear in his labrum, he was unable to be taken in the 2012 MLB Draft. For the 2013 season, he appeared in 54 games, with two home runs and 30 RBIs. Voit was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2013 MLB draft.
