Where did Kevin Kiermaier go to High School?
Kevin Kiermaier was a student at the Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
At both the high school and collegiate levels, Kiermaier was a member of amateur championship teams.
At Parkland College, where he was twice named an NJCAA All-American, his high school won a state championship in Indiana, and his team won a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship.
Kiermaier is known for his strong outfield defense, strong throwing arm, incredible closing speed, and prowess at stealing home runs.
As a result, in 2015, 2016, and 2019, he won Rawlings Gold Glove Awards for center fielders. On September 30, 2013, he made his Major League Baseball debut, which was also game 163 of the regular season and a wild-card tiebreaker game.
In Kiermaier’s senior year, Bishop Luers won the state championship, a first for the school.
After being courted by several college football schools and coming close to committing to Purdue University, Kiermaier decided to pursue a career in college baseball instead, enrolling at Parkland College, where he competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Parkland College won the NJCAA National Championship as a rookie season. During his two years at Parkland, Kiermaier was chosen to the NJCAA All-American team.
