Kutter Martin Crawford is a professional baseball pitcher who was born April 1, 1996, in Okeechobee, Florida, United States of America. Kutter currently plays for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball(MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021 for the Boston Red Sox.
As a teen, Kutter went to the Okeechobee High School in Okeechobee, his hometown and then he played college baseball at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Boston Red Sox drafted him in the 16th round of the 2017 MLB draft. Within that same year, he made his professional debut when he made a single start with the Class A Short Season Lowell Spinners of the New York–Penn League.
In 2018, James was in minor leagues for the Class A Greenville Drive and Class A-Advanced Salem Red Sox. He was later on promoted to the Portland Sea Dogs of Double-A. He played in only one game after mid-July. In October 2019, he had to undergo a Tommy John surgery and around July 2020, he had another surgery to remove bone spurs in his elbow.
The Boston Red Sox added him to their active roster in September 2021 and in November 2021, they added him to their 40-man roster.
