Who is Trey Hillman?

Trey Hillman is a professional baseball coach in the United States. He’s also managed the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters of the Pacific League in Japan, the Kansas City Royals of the American League, and the SK Wyverns of the KBO League.

Trey Hillman is the only manager who has worked in all three countries. He’s also coached the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, and Miami Marlins, among others.

Hillman attended the University of Texas in Arlington and played baseball there. From 1985 through 1987, he was a member of the Cleveland Indians’ farm system, participating in 162 games and hitting.179 while playing a variety of infield positions.

In 1988, Hillman joined the Indians as a scout. The New York Yankees farm system hired him in 1990, and he managed the AAA Columbus Clippers for three years (1999–2001).

He continued with the Yankees farm system until 2001. In 1990, he won the New York–Penn League championship with the Oneonta Yankees.

In 2002, he departed the Yankees to join the Texas Rangers as director of player development.

Hillman professes to be a devout follower of Jesus Christ. He lives in Liberty Hill, Texas, with his wife of more than 20 years, Marie, and their two children, T.J. and Brianna.
