Why Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock On Stage
At the 94th Academy Awards, Will Smith became enraged when Chris Rock made an ugly remark about Jada Pinkett Smith, intended as a joke. Will approached the stage and smacked Chris.
The crowd was stunned during the 94th Academy Awards when performers Will Smith and Chris Rock had an unplanned on-stage brawl.
As Chris Rock entered the stage at the Oscars to deliver the best documentary prize, he made a joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
He said, “Both Javier Bardem and his wife have been nominated.” “Now, if she loses, he can’t win,” Rock said, adding, “He is hoping that Will Smith wins, like, please, lord.” I love you, Jada. “I can’t wait to see ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ all right?” As the joke drew a mixed reaction, Rock continued, “That was a great one!”
Will was spotted laughing at first, then Jada was seen rolling her eyes. Will then stepped up to the stage and smacked Chris across the face.
Jada previously revealed that she was afflicted with alopecia, a hair loss disorder. She originally went out about it in 2018, and she has since shared her struggles with the ailment on social media. She had stated that she had opted to chop her hair short after finding handfuls of it in the shower.
After slapping Chris, the auditorium grew silent for a few seconds before Will returned to his seat and said, “Keep my wife’s name out of your (swear word) mouth!” Will’s audio was plainly audible despite the fact that he was not wearing a microphone. “That was the greatest night in television history,” Chris concluded at the end of the exchange.
