Born on October 1, 1992 (age 29 years), in  Oranjestad, Aruba, Xander is said to have a height that stands at 1.85 m and has a home run of 141.

Mike Lord, a scout for the Boston Red Sox, discovered Bogaerts at the age of 16, in 2009. After not playing baseball for two weeks due to chickenpox.

Bogaerts played for Lord, who recommended him to Craig Shipley, the Red Sox’s vice president of international scouting.
