A Ukrainian official has reported that dozens have been killed after troops from Russia struck a Pre-school in Kharkiv with cluster bombs.
Arsen Avakov, interim Ukraine Interior Minister said on Facebook; “Kharkiv has just been massively fired upon by grads [rockets]. Dozens of dead and hundreds of wounded.”
The attack came on the fifth day of the Russian invasion as negotiators from both sides held talks in Belarus.
In reaction to the development, Rights Groups have approached Russia to quit involving cluster weapons in Ukraine, saying lethal strikes utilizing the unpredictable weapons on an emergency clinic and a school could establish atrocities.
Amnesty International said bunch bombs hit a preschool in northeastern Ukraine on Friday that was being utilized to protect regular folks, killing three individuals, including a youngster.
The rights group said the assault in the town of Okhtyrka “may establish an atrocity” after pictures showed group weapons struck something like seven areas on or close to the school.
Amnesty said the attack “appears to have been carried out by Russian forces, which were operating nearby, and which have a record of using cluster munitions in populated areas”.
“There is no possible justification for dropping cluster munitions in populated areas, let alone near a school,” Amnesty Secretary-General Agnes Callamard said in a statement on Sunday.
