Kirk Baily died after being diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He passed away on February 28, 2022, at the age of 59.
According to sources, friends of the actor confirmed his death on social media.
Kirk Bailey, a New York City native, played Ug in the Nickelodeon series Salute Your Shorts from 1991 to 1992.
Kirk studied comedy at the Groundlings and Second City early in his career.
He began his career as a sound mixer on the cult classic film “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” before moving on to playing parts in films such as “3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain” and “The Sixth Man.”
Since then, he’s been in guest appearances on shows like NYPD Blue, Felicity, and Sisters.
Baily had a successful career as a voice actor in animated television shows and computer games.
His voiceovers can be heard in the animated films Night of the Animate Dead, which will be released in 2021, and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, which will be released in 2020.
On March 2, fans of the renowned actor flocked to Twitter to express their grief over Baily’s death.
“Just learned of Kirk Baily’s death,” one user wrote. “Man was a fantastic voice actor, which many people were unaware of. Salute Your Shorts was my favorite show as a kid. Kirk, rest in peace.”
