Andrew Heaney is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB).
He has previously played in MLB for the Miami Marlins, Los Angeles Angels, and New York Yankees. Prior to becoming a professional, he played college baseball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Heaney was selected in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft by the Miami Marlins.
Heaney was the ninth overall pick, and his signing bonus was anticipated to be $2.6 million.
Heaney started the 2013 season with the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League before being promoted to the Class AA Southern League’s Jacksonville Suns in August.
He had a 34-inning scoreless streak between Jupiter and Jacksonville. Heaney began the 2014 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being promoted to the Class AAA New Orleans Zephyrs in May.
He faced the Oklahoma City Redhawks in his Class AAA debut and pitched five innings, allowing one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. He made the decision to say no.
On June 19, 2014, Heaney made his Major League debut against the New York Mets. Heaney pitched six innings in his debut, allowing one run while striking out three batters. In a 0–0 game, he was defeated.
