Aleksander Nikitin happens to be a renowned chess player, a theorist, and a coach who was born on January 27, 1935. He was particularly known for his chess-playing streak. Sources say he passed away today June 5, 2022. He was born and raised in Moscow and his early life significantly spells out that, he was a product of Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

“The Russian Chess Federation wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to Alexander Nikitin’s family and friends,” the Russian Chess Federation said in a statement.

 

Nikitin was named “Honored Trainer of the USSR” in 1986, and “Senior FIDE Trainer” in 2004.

 

Dmitry Yakovenko, a European champion, and Etienne Bacrot, a multiple French champions, are among Nikitin’s students.
