A gunman opened fire on a large crowd in Philadelphia late Saturday night, killing three people including Alexis Quinn, and injuring 11 more. Philadelphia was the scene of the shooting.
Many gunshots were reported shortly before midnight in the crowded downtown neighborhood of South Street, with claims of “many gunmen” on the scene. Multiple gunshots were heard, according to authorities.
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace’s statement to NBC Philadelphia, a police officer responded to the gunfire by firing one shot in the direction of a probable assailant. One of the suspects, according to the authorities, threw down his revolver and fled the scene.
As a result of being caught in the crossfire, 14 people were hurt. Three persons died in the hospital as a result of their gunshot wounds—two men and one woman.
The three victims slain in the event, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer, were Kristopher Minners, 22, Alexis Quinn, 27, and Gregory “Japan” Jackson, 34.
