Eugene Melnyk was brought up in Toronto, Ontario, the child of parents who moved to Canada from Ukraine. He was survived by two daughters, Olivia and Anna.

Eugene was the Owner, Governor, and Chairman of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators and the AHL’s Belleville Senators, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Neurolign Technologies Inc., Chairman of Clean Beauty Collective Inc., Honorary Colonel, Canadian Armed Forces, and an individual from the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame.

Eugene started his business career in 1982 with Trimel Corp., a clinical distributing organization he changed into the biggest clinical distributing organization in Canada with a stable of 40 distributions.
