Michael Sze was a Hong Kong government official. He held various government positions including Secretary for Constitutional Affairs from 1991 to 1994 and Secretary for the Civil Service from 1994 to 1996.
Prior to becoming chief secretary, Sze served as a district officer for Kwun Tong and Kowloon during the colonial administration.
After that, he was the executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 1996 to 2004. Sze retired from public service in 2004.
The administration honored him with a Gold Bauhinia Star during his final year as executive director. During the anti-fugitive bill movement, Sze made the news.
Former government officials and lawmakers, including Sze, have urged the authorities to remove the bill and to reclassify the June 12 protests as nonviolent civil disobedience.
As well as the creation of an independent investigation committee, they fought for its establishment.

Sze helped raise more than HK$33 million for the hall’s fund-raising activities between 1990 and 2015, according to the statement.
