Michael Timothy Shildt, professionally known as Mike Shildt is a former baseball player and also a former coach and manager for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
Mike was born on August 9, 1968, in Charlotte North Carolina in the United States of America. He was a student at Olympic High School where he played for the school’s baseball team. After high school, he continued at the University of North Carolina (UNC) and played college baseball for the Asheville Bulldogs.
He stopped playing baseball after college and trained to be a coach. His career as a baseball coach began at West Charlotte High School where he coached the baseball team and got them to achieve their first winning season in 20 years.
Mike was hired by his Alma mater, the UNC when he stopped coaching at West Charlotte High School. He was employed to be the assistant coach for the Charlotte 49ers baseball team. He coached the team for five years.
When Mike left UNC, he became a full-time baseball instructor after owning a baseball training facility in his birth town, North Carolina. In 2017, Mike started working at the St. Louis Cardinals firm as a coach. In 2018, he was made the manager till he was sacked in 2021.
