Naomi Judd was an American singer-songwriter and actress. In 1983, she and her daughter Wynonna formed the duo known as The Judds.
Her journey was far more than a pleasant rags-to-riches tale. She created country music history and enchanted Hollywood.
With her daughter Wynonna, the single mother and trained nurse from small-town Kentucky initially won the hearts of the globe.
The Judds have sold 20 million albums, had fifteen #1 hits, and won over sixty industry honors, including six Grammys and seven straight CMA Vocal Group of the Year awards.
However, Naomi’s extraordinary adventure was cut short when she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, a potentially fatal chronic liver condition that she caught while working as a nurse through an infected needle.
Naomi was given three years to live by the Mayo Clinic, and The Judds said their goodbyes to their fans in 1991.
Naomi fought back, both physically and mentally, instead of accepting her dreadful diagnosis. She was now more than a survivor.

On Saturday, April 30, 2022, Naomi Judd, a long-time advocate for mental health, committed suicide. Naomi’s daughters, Ashley and Wynonna, released a statement following her passing over the weekend.
