Nicholas John Carlo Pivetta, simply identified in baseball as Nick Pivetta is a Canadian professional baseball player who pitches for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball(MLB).
Nick was born on February 14, 1993, in a town in Canada called Victoria. He had his secondary school education and amateur career at Lambrick Park Secondary School in Saanich, British Columbia. He played for the Canadian Junior National Team from 2009 to 2012.
He also went to New Mexico Junior College where he played baseball and graduated in 2013. After he graduated, Nick was selected by the Washington Nationals team in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB draft. He signed with the Nationals for a salary of $364,300 and made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Nationals of the Rookie Gulf Coast League that same year.
The Nationals traded Pivetta to the Philadelphia Phillies in July 2015 for another player. In 2017, he was promoted to be on the Phillies 25-man roster. The very day he was placed on the roaster, he made his MLB debut for the team. He pitched for the Phillies for five good years before they traded him to the Boston Red Sox.
Nick has been with the Bostons since then and in September 2020, he was added to Boston’s active roster.
