A delegation will meet with Russian officials as Moscow’s troops draw closer to Kyi, the office of Ukraine’s president has confirmed.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office said on the Telegram messaging app that the two sides would meet at an unspecified location on the Belarusian border and did not give a precise time for the meeting.
The declaration on Sunday came hours after Russia reported that its appointment had traveled to Belarus to anticipate talks.
Ukrainian authorities at first dismissed the move, saying any discussions should occur somewhere else than Belarus, where Russia set a huge unforeseen of troops before it attacked Ukraine beginning Thursday.
