Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi artist, was killed and two others were injured at a village in Mansa on Sunday. The assassination of the 28-year-old Congress leader was carried out by a squad led by Lawrence Bishnoi.

Lucky, a member of the organization, had accepted responsibility from Canada, according to the Punjab DGP.

Unidentified assailants attacked Moose Wala in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, a day after the Punjab government withdrew its security.

The event appeared to be the consequence of inter-gang rivalry, according to Punjab DGP VK Bhawra, who added that a special investigation team (SIT) had been created to investigate the situation.

“Sidhu Moose Wala had his own bulletproof automobile, which he didn’t use. IG range has been directed to constitute an SIT on the directions of the CM.

There were three weapons utilized. SSP Mansa and SSP Bathinda were dispatched to the area. Additional forces have been mobilized by the ADG Law and Order,” Bhawra stated.

 

In the face of calls for his resignation from opposition parties due to the bad law and order situation in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged for calm and stated those responsible would not be spared.

“I am shocked and very grieved by Siddhu Moosewala’s heinous murder.

The musician, whose real name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, joined the Congress in December 2021 and ran for Punjab assembly in his native district of Mansa, but was unsuccessful.

 

Moose Wala’s songs, according to Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party, glorify drugs and gun violence. Several lawsuits have been filed against the musician for glorifying firearms in his videos.
