Song Hae was a South Korean singer and television host who was born on April 27, 1927, and passed away on June 8, 2022.
In addition to serving in the military during the Korean War, he was most known for his work as the host of the music program Korea Sings, which he began in 1988 and continued to host until his passing in 2022.
According to the Seoul National University Hospital, he died Wednesday at his residence in South Korea’s capital, Seoul. The cause of death has yet to be determined by hospital officials.
Song had expressed a wish to leave KBS TV’s “National Singing Contest,” the weekly show he emceed for nearly three decades, in recent media interviews, complaining about his poor recovery from COVID-19 after being diagnosed with the condition in March.
