Viktor Sergeyevich Samokhin played and coached football for the Soviet Union and Russia.
On November 21, 1979, Samokhin made his single appearance for the Soviet Union in a friendly against West Germany.
At the age of 67, Samokhin passed away. He worked at the Spartak Academy named for Fyodor Cherenkov in recent years.

From 1974 to 1981, Samokhin played for Spartak and scored three goals in 224 games.
The defender won the USSR championship in 1979, the silver medalist in the 1980 and 1981 USSR championships, the inaugural allied league competition in 1977, and the Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR in 1979.
He played with CSKA from 1982 to 1985 before moving to Hungary in 1987 to play for the Southern Group of Forces football team for the next five years.
He returned to Moscow in 1991 and worked with CSKA for a short time before resigning. He was invited to Sokol Saratov as a game coach in 1992, but due to injuries, he only stayed for one season.
He worked as a game coach for the Moscow club TRASKO in 1993.
From 1996 until 2002, Samokhin was a member of the Spartak coaching staff, which won the Russian Championship six times in a row and the Russian Cup in 1998.
He has been employed at the Spartak Academy named after Fyodor Cherenkov since 2011.
