Eya passed away following the accident while her sister, who competed alongside Eya at the Olympics, survived.
The coach whose name has not yet been revealed managed to help Eya’s sister Sarah to flee the tangled rigging before then locating Eya, on whom he attempted CPR but in vain.
Eya Guezguez was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead after drowning.
