He began publishing his tracks independently after the release of the album. The UK Singles Chart placed his 2019 single “47” at number one. The Guardian named Moose Wala one of the top 50 emerging artists in 2020.

Ten of his songs have charted in the United Kingdom’s Asian charts, with two of them reaching number one. On the global YouTube music chart, his song “Bambiha Bole” was in the top five.

In 2021, he published Moosetape, which had songs that charted on the Canadian Hot 100, UK Asian, and New Zealand Hot charts, among others.

Moose Wala was noted for his provocative lyrical style, which often promoted gun culture while also confronting religious sentiments, like in the case of Mai Bhago, a venerated Sikhism figure.

He had previously been sued for promoting gun culture and utilizing aggressive and inciting lyrics in his music.

Four criminal proceedings against him were still pending in 2022. Moose Wala was a member of the Indian National Congress who ran for the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Mansa in 2022 but was defeated.
