Xi Jinping happens to be the current President of China. He is also the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and is also the Chairman of the Central Military Commission. He has been in this position since 2012.

He was born on June 15, 1953, in Beijing, China to parents Xi Zhongxun and Qi Xin. Xi Jinping attended the Beijing No. 25 School and then Beijing Bayi School in the 1960s. When he was 10 years old, his father was sent to work in a factory in Luoyang, Henan.

In 1966, the Cultural Revolution stopped all secondary classes as they wanted students to criticise and fight their teachers. Student militants ransacked Xi Jinping’s family home and one of his sisters ended up committing suicide. His mother was also forced to publicly denounce his father, as his father was paraded before a crowd as an enemy of the revolution.
