Yandy Daz Fernández is a Cuban professional baseball third baseman and outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball. He was born on August 8, 1991 in Sagua la Grande, Villa Clara, Cuba (MLB).
Jorge, his father, also left Cuba to pursue a professional baseball career in the United States. Yandy last saw his father when he was six years old. Diaz was born in Cuba and is of Afro-Cuban origin.

The Indians traded Daz to the Tampa Bay Rays on December 13, 2018, as part of a three-team deal in which the Rays also received Cole Sulser in exchange for Jake Bauers, and the Seattle Mariners received Edwin Encarnación from the Indians in exchange for Carlos Santana.
During the season, Daz was sidelined due to injury, and he only had 307 at-bats. He did, however, knock 14 home runs and drive in 38 runs.
The Rays defeated the Oakland Athletics in the 2019 American League Wild Card Game, and Daz blasted two home runs.
Despite a hamstring injury in September 2020, Daz played in 34 games during the truncated 2020 season, slashing.307/.428/.386 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
