Meet Hal Steinbrenner Owner Of New York Yankees
Harold Steinbrenner is an American entrepreneur who is most known for being the Chairman and Managing General Partner of Yankee Global Enterprises, which owns Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees. His father, George Steinbrenner, died in 2010, and he and his siblings gained control of the team.
Born December 3, 1969, Culver, Indiana, United States. George (1930–2010) and Elizabeth Joan Steinbrenner (née Zieg) (1935–2018) have a younger son, Hal Steinbrenner. Jessica Steinbrenner and Jennifer Steinbrenner, his sisters, are his only siblings (formerly Swindal). Hank Steinbrenner, who passed away in 2020, is his younger brother.
As George Steinbrenner’s health deteriorated, he progressively handed over the day-to-day authority of the Yankees to Hal and his other son, Hank. On September 28, 2007, Hal Steinbrenner was elected Chairman of the Board of Yankee Global Enterprises.
Major League Baseball owners authorized the transfer of day-to-day control of the Yankees from father George Steinbrenner to son Hal Steinbrenner on November 20, 2008.
