Football’s placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is tasked with kicking field goals and extra points for the opposing team. In many circumstances, the placekicker is also the team’s kickoff or punting specialist. The Washington Team have had some of the best Place Kickers in their history.

Mark Moseley
National Football League (NFL) placekicker Mark DeWayne Moseley was a member of the Washington Redskins (1974–86). Before moving to kicker for his final season at Stephen F. Austin State University, Moseley was a quarterback at Texas A&M University and Stephen F. Austin. The Washington Redskins signed him in 1974, and he remained with the team until 1986. The strike-shortened 1982 season saw him win the Most Valuable Player Award.
Curt Knight
Washington Redskins former placekicker Luther Curtis Knight, Jr. is a former NFL kicker who led the NFL in field goals in 1971 (29), as well as the NFC in scoring (114 points).
Chip Lohmiller
After being taken in the second round of the 1988 NFL Draft, Lohmiller played for the Washington Redskins from 1988 through 1994. As a professional kicker, Lohmiller played for both the New Orleans Saints and the St. Louis Rams (1996).
Dick Poillon
Richard Charles Poillon played halfback for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). As the Redskins’ leading scorer for three seasons in a row, he tallied a career of 247 points. When the Washington Post conducted a survey, Poillon was named one of the Redskins’ top 100 players of all time.
Shaun Suisham
Shaun Christopher Suisham is a former National Football League (NFL) placekicker for the Washington Redskins who was born in Canada. A 39-yard game-winning field goal in extra time gave him his first career win for the Washington Redskins on September 9, 2007, against the Miami Dolphins.
