Andrew is the son of Deb Wylie and Scott Wylie. Moreover, he was motivated to play football from an early age by his parents.

He didn’t want to do what his coaches wanted him to do in fifth-grade football, so he only got about 30 seconds (of playing time) every game, Andrew’s father, Scott Wylie once explained in an interview.

“His mother talked to him and told him, ‘Look, you have to sort it out, and we have a lot of work to do on the (family) farm, so you may be on your own.’ We may not be able to attend your games. Your mentors want you to try something new.’

He ultimately recognized that and they had a heart-to-heart, and he wound up on the offensive line, which he didn’t want to do. But, owing to his youth trainers Jim Heinlein and Jim Rowe, he had some success there, and he bought in, and he started to figure it out.” Nothing would have progressed without them.”

In hindsight, it’s reasonable to say Andrew made the correct decision.

Andrew became a staple on the Chemics’ offensive line after transferring from his local school of Hemlock to Midland High and then went on to have a notable collegiate career at Eastern Michigan University.

He was an all-conference performer at Eastern Michigan, where he helped the Eagles reach a bowl game for the first time in 29 years and was a part of the best single-season turnaround in FBS football history (from 1-11 in 2015 to 7-6 in 2016).

Andrews Wylie is now a member of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ NFL team.  He is assigned to the position of Offensive Guard.
