In exchange for Tyreek Hill, the Kansas City Chiefs traded him to the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday for five first-round, second-round, and fourth-round picks in the 2022 drafts, as well as fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2023 edition.
A four-year, $120 million contract, including $72.2 million guaranteed and $52.535 million at signing, has been given to Hill by the Miami Dolphins, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, ESPN reports.
For Hill, this contract represents a new record high in NFL wide receiver pay. At the start of the 2023 season, the amount of $72.2 million will be fully guaranteed.
The arrangement is worth $72.5 million over the course of three years.
The total value of the deal, including the $120 million in added money, for Hill, who was already under contract until the 2022 season, is $141.685 million.
In addition, there are $250,000 in Pro Bowl bonuses each year.
According to insiders, both the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins had trades in place for Hill. Hill had to decide where he wanted to play wide receiver after signing a record-setting contract.
Multiple draft picks were included in the Jets’ trade offer to the Chiefs for Hill, which they would have accepted if the wide receiver had chosen New York, sources tell ESPN.
Hill would have accepted the deal if he had been selected for New York. With the selections of 35, 38, and 69 going to the Chiefs, the Jets would have obtained Hill and the 103rd pick.
