How did Bruno Fernandes’ Accident Occur?
Fernandes was involved in a crash in his Porsche ahead of Monday’s training session.
Although this has not been confirmed, it is thought that the 27-year-old and other passengers in the vehicle did not sustain major injuries.
It’s unclear how serious the accident was, how many people were in the Porsche, and how badly the automobile was damaged.
Fernandes recently signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford, highlighting his importance to the team. He is a 42-cap Portugal international, helping his country win the Nations League in 2019.
On Monday, Fernandes is due to work out at Carrington. On Tuesday evening, United will face bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
It’s unclear whether the Portuguese playmaker will face Jurgen Klopp’s championship contenders in the Premier League. The Reds defeated United 5-0 at Old Trafford earlier this season.
Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager, will appear to the media on Monday afternoon and is anticipated to provide an update on Fernandes.
United have yet to respond to the event, which was first reported by Simon Peach of the Press Association.
Since joining United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes has scored 49 goals in 120 appearances for the Red Devils.
He became the first player to win four Premier League Player of the Month honors in a single season in 2020.
Fernandes just extended his contract at Old Trafford, demonstrating his value to the team. He has 42 caps for Portugal, and in 2019 he helped his team win the Nations League.
United are in fifth place in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. This season, they face Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace in six league games.
This season, Fernandes has only missed two Premier League games, one due to suspension and the other due to illness.
When regular captain Harry Maguire was not selected or unavailable, he started five of his 30 league games as captain.
