The M&T Bank Stadium

The stadium was once known as Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards before being renamed PSINet Stadium in 1999 after PSINet purchased the naming rights. When PSINet went bankrupt in 2002, it was renamed Ravens Stadium.

The naming rights were purchased by M&T Bank in 2003, and the Ravens inked a 15-year, $75 million contract with Team Services, LLC. M&T Bank Stadium’s naming rights were renewed in 2014 for $60 million over ten years, extending the name until 2027.

The new stadium’s foundation was laid in mid-1996, shortly after the Ravens arrived. The team’s first two years were spent at Memorial Stadium. Despite residents’ wishes for the Ravens to remain in Baltimore indefinitely, the city was deemed too old to host an NFL franchise. After the 1991 season, the Orioles left Memorial Stadium.

The Wm. Knabe & Co. piano factory, which closed during the Great Depression, used to be located on the stadium site. The company’s legacy is commemorated via a sidewalk keyboard mosaic at the stadium’s southwest corner.
