Boston Celtics is an American professional basketball team based in Boston which was founded on June 6, 1946, and the team was founded by Walter A Brown.

As a member of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, Boston Celtics compete in the Basket National Association.

 

Meet Rich Gotham – President of Boston Celtics

Richard Ernest Gotham is an American business executive who is the president of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association.

He is a graduate of Providence College and a resident of Medfield, Massachusetts. On April 18, 2007, Gotham was named president of the Boston Celtics.

In his new role, Gotham will be responsible for all aspects of the Celtics business operations, reporting to CEO and Managing Partner Wyc Grousbeck.

In addition, he will continue to work closely with Celtics Basketball Operations and the NBA on strategic initiatives and team-related matters. Previous Boston Celtics Presidents include Arnold “Red” Auerbach and Rick Pitino.

In June of 2006, Gotham was named Chief Operating Officer for the Boston Celtics. From April 2003 through June 2006, Gotham served as Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development for the Celtics.

Rich Gotham is in his 17th season with the 17-time World champion Boston Celtics and his 12th season as team President.
